We were a family of 15 consisting of 4 generations, the hotel catered for us all. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and how they went the extra mile to make our stay memorable. Thank you to Aga especially for organising a function room for us to have a family dinner without even asking for it and also organising a separate area for us at breakfast. Thank you to Lalaine ( I hope I spelt that right) for looking after us Friday night during our meal, making sure we had everything we needed. Our evening meal and the breakfast the following morning couldn’t be faulted, our whole party, 3 of which were from Canada all agreed the staff at the holiday Inn Swindon really went over and above. Well done to you all and Thank you. If you are looking for somewhere in or around Swindon to stay then you can’t go wrong. Comfy beds, good food, warm pool ( the little ones loved that it wasn’t cold), brilliant room rate.

Booked last minute and found the hotel to be excellent value for money, with extra free facilities like the indoor heated pool.whoch was brilliant for a morning swim with the kids before setting off on the road again. The staff are very welcoming and Mandy in the restaurant is a shining example of a hard working, cheerful, friendly member of staff even in the middle of an extremely busy breakfast service (a group had just come into the dining area and it was chaos, yet she welcomed us with a big smile and kind words for the kids. The room is clean and comfortable, with little welcome treats like coffee & tea bags, custard biscuits etc. We also loved the location on the edge of town (didn't want to go into the city itself) and the easy, free parking.

The staff on reception were very welcoming, the young lady who checked me in was so polite and helpful. The main area of the hotel is very nice, with a lovely bar and sitting area which goes round to the restaurant area. This was clean, tidy and had a little area with some books and toys for little ones. The outside windows of the hotel do look dated, but don’t let this put you off, our room was clean and tidy and as we walked into the main hotel it was also modern and clean. All staff were welcoming and polite, and to us this is the main thing about a hotel. Breakfast was lovely with a good selection of cooked, pastries, cereal and fruit. The staff at breakfast were also very welcoming and polite.

It was easy to get to coming off the M4. Parking was easy and close. The entrance hall/bar area/dining area were light, bright and airy. It was described as dog friendly. It really was! I was bringing my dog to see a nearby specialist vet. The staff all learnt her name and were very friendly, kind and caring. There is a decent sized area of grass and a wooded area just outside which is especially handy when you have a dog. All the food was lovely and well cooked. The swimming pool, jacuzzi and gym are open to residents.

Room was comfortable, warm and clean. However, there were a couple of issues in room 127, the standard lamp didn't work, the toilet seat was loose, there wasn't any hot water in the bathroom sink tap but there was in the shower. The bathroom itself was very shabby, especially the door from water damage. When we went for breakfast at 09:00, most of the items were cold, except for the baked beans. The dining room itself was very cold, even the staff complained.
